Dr. Hedy L. Kindler - Chicago, Illinois
Dr. Kindler is an internationally known cancer expert who specializes in the medical treatment of gastrointestinal cancers and mesothelioma, a type of lung cancer that is primarily caused by overexposure to asbestos. She is actively investigating several types of new treatments for cancer, including novel drugs that slow the growth of blood vessels to pancreatic tumors, and therapies that target the unique biology of mesothelioma.

Dr. Michael L. Maitland - Chicago, Illinois
Dr. Maitland is a medical oncologist who focuses on caring for patients with lung cancer, esophageal cancer, mesothelioma, and advanced solid tumors.

He is a broadly trained physician-scientist who leads a research program in translational medicine and cancer therapeutics. The goal of translational medicine is to improve patient care by quickly and effectively applying recent advances in laboratory research. The program currently concentrates on angiogenesis inhibitors, a class of drugs that treat tumors by modifying their blood supply.

Dr. Eric Vallieres - Seattle, Washington
Dr. Vallieres is a thoracic surgeon, who joined the Swedish Cancer Institute (SCI) to help lead its multidisciplinary Lung Cancer Program. He is recognized nationally and internationally as an expert in, and a proponent of, the benefits of multi-modality therapy for lung-cancer patients. In addition to lung cancer, Dr. Vallieres' areas of expertise include mesothelioma, thoracic oncology and the surgical treatment of hyperhidrosis. Internationally recognized for his clinical research in lung cancer, he has been the recipient of numerous grants for conducting clinical trials and has published more than 120 articles and abstracts.
